WHERE TO GO
ABOUT TEEN COURT

The Teen Court program is designed to provide youth with a positive alternative to the court system. Youth participate in structured programs and group interactions which are intended to improve self-esteem, self-understanding, decision-making, communication, respect, responsibility, caring and honesty.

We work closely with the Minnehaha County States Attorney's Office and are court approved. Cases are referred to the Juvenile Diversion Program by the States Attorney Office. Upon successful completion of the program youth are granted a second chance to have a record free from the criminal charges for which their referral stems from.

Teen Court also gives youth interested in future law-based careers, or simply looking to expand their knowledge, the unique chance to volunteer.
